Dive into social media with Palmer Higgs

Social Media is all the buzz now, not just for communicating with friends but as a viable means of promoting your book or you as an author. In the next section of the Self-Publisher’s Marketing Guide, I’ll be providing lots of hints about how to use social media such as Facebook and Twitter as a part of the marketing and publicity plan for your book.

You can already follow Palmer Higgs on both Facebook and Twitter. Not sure how? It is very easy, just follow these simple steps and you’re on your way to being part of the world of social media.

  • Go to www.facebook.com and Sign Up. All you need to provide is your name, email and password
  • When signed in, use the Search button at the top of the page to look for Palmer Higgs Self Publishing
  • Click on the thumbs-up image LIKE at the top of the page
  • You are now a friend of the Palmer Higgs Self Publishing page and our information will be automatically uploaded to your Facebook page
• Twitter
  
  • Go to www.twitter.com and click on the Sign Up button
  • You need to provide your name, a username (maybe the name of your book ?) and password
  • Use the Find People at the top right hand side of the page to find us – palmerhiggs and click on our name to take you to our page
  • Click on the Follow button at the top of our page to be automatically updated with our “tweets” on your page

Not too difficult at all! Take the plunge if you’re new to this and give it a whirl. Before long it will be as normal as switching on the TV and you need to become familiar with it now!
