October 2011

We're hoping to get to the London Book Fair next year to represent some of our authors, tell the world about our great new eBook store for self-published authors and maybe find some new talent wishing to distribute in Australia.

A new website, Great Aussie Reads is promoting books by Australian authors with Australian themes. A great idea run by a couple of enthusiasts (I'll find out more about them and get back to you!) there are only a few books up but more to come.

You can sell your eBook easily and securely and deal with REAL PEOPLE HERE in Australia (now there's a novel concept!).

Melbourne-based publishing services company, Palmer Higgs is delighted to announce the launch of Australia’s first eBookstore for self-published and independently-published authors with full Digital Rights Management (DRM)

We don’t really need much of an excuse to visit Queensland so an invitation to present at the inaugural Indie Authors’ Festival on the Gold Coast was readily accepted.

There is obviously nothing new or surprising about book wards at a Book Fair however what is unusual is that these awards were for self-published titles only and judged in quite a different way.

We've been big fans of Tania McCartney and the team at Kids' Book Review (KBR) for some time now. In case you are not aware of it, KBR is a 100% voluntary children’s literature and book review site that supports and features authors, illustrators and publishers Australia-wide and internationally.

The latest news from the Festival's website is about the appointment of a new Chairperson.
